Congratulations to NHS Supply Chain’s In-Hospital Services team who won the HCSA Award for Cross Functional Collaboration Project for their Inventory Management Solutions (IMS) and Point of Care (PoC) programme in November 2025.
The award recognises the outstanding collaborative work between NHS England, GS1 UK, Scan4Safety, suppliers, IT providers, NHS trusts and frontline teams in delivering unprecedented progress in connecting supply chain and patient care.
The programme has successfully gone live in 19 NHS trusts across 82 locations, saving an average of 700 clinical hours per trust annually and recording initial savings of over £6.7 million, whilst strengthening patient safety through barcode scanning and digital-driven productivity improvements.
